What’s changing
According to ALDOR’s official notice, Sumter County will increase several local sales and use tax rates effective December 1, 2025. Updated sales tax rates include:
- General: 4%
- Amusement: 3%
- Automotive: 2.25%
- Grocery: 3%
- Machine: 2%
- Vending: 3%
- Farm: 2%
Local use tax rates have also been adjusted to match the updated sales tax categories. Payments and correspondence continue to be handled through Avenu’s Sales Tax Division.
