Arielle Smith

Arielle Smith is a Certified Professional Bookkeeper (CPB Canada), Certified Bookkeeper (AIPB), and Co-Founder of Fix My Books Inc., an award-winning bookkeeping and tax filing firm serving small businesses across Canada and the United States. She leads all bookkeeping and payroll compliance operations at the firm, with deep specialization in ecommerce — particularly Shopify — and cross-border financial management for North American small businesses.

Fix My Books was founded in 2020 and has grown from a home-based startup to one of Canada’s top-rated ecommerce bookkeeping firms, winning the 2023 New Firm of the Year Award from the Certified Professional Bookkeepers of Canada. The firm has since expanded into the U.S. market, giving Arielle and her co-founder Jason firsthand experience navigating the compliance differences that small business owners face when operating across both countries — including GST/HST, provincial tax programs, and U.S. state sales tax obligations. That cross-border perspective is directly relevant to ecommerce sellers expanding into or between the two markets.
