Navigating complex U.S. sales tax laws
Avanquest specializes in selling online software, primarily in the PDF and utilities space. As a company selling to U.S. customers, Avanquest faced a growing challenge with sales tax compliance, particularly after the Wayfair decision. The ruling required online software providers to collect and remit sales tax in multiple states, regardless of where they were headquartered.
As a Canadian-based company, Avanquest had two choices: develop an in-house solution to manage U.S. tax compliance or find a trusted partner to handle the complexities for them.
