1. Bringing TaxCloud to All Major eCommerce Platforms
Heading into 2024, we heard loud and clear from TaxCloud customers that they wanted us to offer deeper support for the integrations they rely on to run their online businesses.
This means launching integrations with brand new platforms, as well as rebuilding existing integrations to ensure they delivered an experience that made connecting TaxCloud completely seamless:
- Shopify: Launched a dedicated integration featuring automated sales tax returns filing, easy setup, and a daily data sync feature to help merchants confidently manage compliance.
- BigCommerce: Relaunched our improved BigCommerce app with seamless setup and automated tax calculations for every transaction.
- New & improved Integrations: Rolled out new and improved connections to platforms like Odoo, WooCommerce, and Adobe Commerce (Magento), ensuring TaxCloud is accessible wherever you do business.

2. Real-Time Sales Tax for QuickBooks Online
Beyond offering real-time integrations that let you calculate and collect sales tax through your ecommerce platform of choice, in 2024, we also wanted to offer integrations with the accounting platforms like Quickbooks Online.
Our new QuickBooks Online (QBO) integration brings real-time sales tax calculations directly into the Quickbooks platform. Users can now automate tax calculations for invoices while managing multi-state compliance.
This integration ensures accurate taxability rules and rates for every U.S. jurisdiction, making it easier than ever to stay compliant while streamlining your accounting workflows. By combining TaxCloud with QuickBooks Online’s powerful features, businesses can manage financials and compliance in one place.
3. Making TaxCloud More Accessible and Easier to Use
In 2024, we focused on lowering barriers for businesses to adopt and benefit from TaxCloud. Key highlights included:
- Overhauled Onboarding: Redesigned to enable self-serve account setup, helping more and more businesses to get started quickly.
- 30-Day Free Trial: We re-launched our free trial, offering businesses full access to all TaxCloud features for 30 days, so they can experience the value of our platform firsthand.
- Improved Integration UX: We streamlined the user experience for connecting platforms like Shopify, BigCommerce, and QuickBooks Online. Integrating with TaxCloud is now easier and faster than ever before.
- Launch of the Scalable API: Reliable and scalable, the new version of our API delivers greater performance to support growing businesses, developers, and large-scale operations.
These enhancements reflect our commitment to making TaxCloud not only powerful but also simple to adopt and use, allowing more businesses to stay compliant with less effort.
4. Investing in Customer Support and Services
The biggest investment we made as a company this year wasn’t in our product functionality or features, it was in our customer success and service teams.
We’ve always offered the best support of any sales tax solution available today, but in 2024 we doubled down on that promise and increased our investment in programs to support our customers including:
- Hands-On Onboarding and Implementation: Our full Onboarding program is something completely unique in the sales tax compliance space. Our team of experts guide you through the entire onboarding process, with up to three phone calls and dedicated email support. This includes guidance through your account setup and integrations, testing, state authorization, and troubleshooting for any issues when they come up. This program saves you hours in setup time and gives you peace of mind, knowing you’re set up for success.
- Dedicated Customer Success Managers: Every customer is assigned a dedicated success manager who serves as a trusted guide throughout your entire journey with TaxCloud. They’re there to help you navigate challenges, optimize your setup, and achieve your compliance goals.
- US-Based, Real-Time Support: We continued to grow our US-based support team in 2024. Our in-house support team is always just a message away. Whether you have a technical question or need assistance, you’ll connect with real people who are ready to help you with fast, reliable support.
Our dedication to customer support is reflected in the numbers: we successfully resolved 9,000+ tickets, answered 2,000+ phone calls, and achieved an impressive 92% Customer Satisfaction (CSAT) score — a testament to our commitment to providing responsive, reliable assistance.
These efforts have also resulted in glowing reviews on platforms like Shopify, BigCommerce, Trustpilot, and G2.

5. Bringing the TaxCloud Brand to Life
In 2024, we introduced a bold new look for TaxCloud, complete with a refreshed logo, updated visuals, and an inspiring website redesign. This rebrand isn’t just about a new set of colors or designs on a webpage. This rebrand reflects our focus on being a modern, customer-centric platform while staying true to our mission of simplifying sales tax compliance.
To capture the energy of our new brand, we launched a video that highlights what makes TaxCloud the right-sized solution for growing companies.
One exciting addition to our rebrand is the debut of TC, the orange square from our logo that you’ll see more of in 2025. Featured prominently in our video, TC brings our branding to life — symbolizing everything from items in a shopping cart to our commitment to customer support. TC reflects the fun, energetic side of TaxCloud, and we’re excited to make it a key visual in our story moving forward!
6. Celebrating Customer Success
At TaxCloud, we’ve always spent a lot of time talking to customers. But never took the time to share their stories and celebrate their success. In 2024, we set a goal to give our customers more of a platform to highlight their success.
Here are some of our favorite stories from 2024:
- Music Direct: Music Direct reduced the amount of time they were spending managing sales tax compliance by 90% after making the switch to TaxCloud. As the Music Direct team put it: “I sleep better at night knowing that TaxCloud handles our sales tax.“
- PangoBooks: PangoBooks was tired of overpaying for sales tax software for their online book marketplace. They were shocked to find out that switching to TaxCloud would save them 75% on their bill compared to what they were paying Avalara. As they put it: “The pricing difference is huge, and it’s a relief to move away from the endless negotiations just to get a decent price.”
- UntilGone: UntilGone knew they needed a better way to manage sales tax for their online store on BigCommerce. They were hesitant to make a change because they felt the migration process would be too difficult, but when they found out that the TaxCloud integration with BigCommerce offered a seamless switching process, they decided to make the switch. As they explain: “The integration process with TaxCloud was incredibly straightforward. We installed the app, and by the time we were done, we were essentially able to just flick a switch and complete the migration. It was very easy to set up the different states that needed to be set up,”
